A message from The Edgcumbe & Deck Crew


March 2021

We are so pleased to be able to re-open our doors again, in line with the recent government outline to the road map to recovery. Currently we are only permitted to open for essential workers, and we will be asking for details into the authenticity of such travellers, so please don’t book for leisure or pleasure just yet!

Until further notice we will still be working within the recommended health and safety guidelines, to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. Mask and social distancing in communal areas will continued to be adhered to. Hand sanitising and hand washing remain vigilant.

Our visitors health and well being is super important to us. We will be doing everything possible to ensure you are safe and your visit to is still totally fabulous.

We appreciate these remain strange times and thank you for trusting in us to keep you as safe as possible. Whilst we are doing all we can, we ask that you do your bit and follow the systems and practises in place to keep you and our other guests safe.

Here are some of the changes we have put into place to ensure you feel safe and confident in The Edgcumbe & The DECK during your visit.

Looking after you…

Food & Drink

Our restaurant remains closed until 12 April when we can serve outside, weather permitting. This will be day time only. We will continue to offer our takeaway on certain nights.
Once open on 17 May, There may still be some slight changes to products and items in your room and during breakfast service. Breakfast buffets are currently not permitted so there may be some minor reductions to our menu to avoid communal cross contamination. Breakfast times currently remain the same, but we will be using all our dining areas to avoid overcrowding. ‘Grab & Go’ takeaway breakfast are provide to Essential workers.

We have reduced The DECK restaurant capacity in line with the Government guidelines to enable diners to relax and enjoy their meal whilst maintaining social distancing. We have be adopted table service, and this will continue to remain.

In addition to our already strict cleaning and hygiene routines, we will be paying extra vigilant attention to high touch and traffic area points. We have sanitising areas throughout and politely ask for you to use when entering the property.

We have implemented a one ways system for use of the public toilet facilities and with a 2 person limit on queuing during busy periods, and it goes without saying that sanitiser and cleaning products will be readily available along with disposable hand towels. As a resident we ask that you use the facilities in your room.

Rooms

We will be asking guests to arrive from 3pm to check-in allowing extra time for deep cleaning of room.

We have installed a screen at reception for safe check in and out and if credit card details have been provided, we are able to offer contact less check out and email a receipt of of your stay. If you would like a copy prior to check out, please request this the evening before and ensure we have your personal email if you did not book direct with us. We are currently working with our system partners to offer a book “pay now” button direct to you.

To ensure minimum contact and safety for you and our staff, housekeeping service is on a request basis only. Should you require this service, your room will need to be vacant and personal items and toiletries stowed away. Please have a chat with us at during breakfast if you need any top ups or a service.

Magazines and other reading material will be removed, but available on request for individual use. Some soft furnishings have been removed from our rooms in order to minimise possible risk of transmission.

Looking after our Crew…

As a family owned business, our team are part of our extended family. Their their well being – both physical and mental – are top of our agenda. We have looked after our staff throughout this difficult time and will continue to do so as we slowly move forward to a new normal.

We’ll ensure that everyone involved with our business is fully aware of the guidelines and new procedures relating to the prevention of Covid 19. Uniforms, PPE and training are provided as well as copious amounts of hand wash and sanitiser!
